Urban and Contemporary Worship Vol. 1 is designed for the beginner and intermediate who wants to begin playing right away. Not only will start playing right away, but you will acquire the secrets to that contemporary style that will jump start you into, not only playing the keys, but sounding like you've always wanted to sound. You do not have to know theory, or your chords. We left that up to your piano teacher. All you have to know is the name of your notes, and even if you don't know that, we even put pictures of the keys on the DVD so that you can follow the fingers and the lit up notes on the virtual keyboard interface. The style of playing on this DVD is that contemporary, urban worship sound that you hear from artist such as Donnie McClurkin, Marivn Sapp, Israel, and other contemporary worship artists.

What is "Urban Worship?"

Urban worship is a term coined by Jamal Hartwell after a very popular video clip called Urban Worship Workout (You can see this clip in the Lessons section of the Website). The response from this video clip was overwhelming. We found out that so many musicians want that contemporary/urban vibe that is played in today's music. This style is a combination of RnB, Gospel, and a tad bit of jazz all rolled into one. We all realize that the line between RnB and gospel is becoming thinner and thinner as far as chord progressions go in today's contemporary gospel arenas. One important note is that we are musicians who love and play solely for the glory of God, but at the same we feel that we can still worship and praise the Lord, with a sound that is not outdated, boring, or old school. As a result, the responses we've gotten from musicians all over the world has been remarkable. Many "white" musicians call us up and say that they play at an all white church and they want that particular "black" sound. Many older musicians say that they want to "update" their sound to more like modern music. Whatever the case may be, Urban and Contemporary Worship will give you the basic and intermediate foundations to this popular, and well sought after, sound of what we have coined, "Urban Worship!"

Feel is Everything
